Children's Sunday School
We have a team of teachers at the Church of the Holy Spirit. Each brings his and her strengths and perspectives. Our student body is mixed, and when we have a large enough group, we can split up into two smaller groups. Currently, we have five to twelve participants ranging in age from three to thirteen. We have two adults and or one adult and a teen assistant. Our structure is flexible yet committed. We always learn something new, get to know one another better, and have fun in the process.
We begin each class in a circle to share one or two things for which we are thankful from the past week. We then have a prayer for all of the particular points of gratitude, or perhaps petitions. Sometimes this varies, as in Lent, where we are focusing on one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit each week. (Love, Joy, Peace, Patience (forbearance), Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control.) What in your week brought you joy, for example, or allowed you to bring joy to another?
The format is simple, based on typical Bible study questions:

The format is simple, based on typical Bible study questions:
- Present the lesson (reading from Scripture, video, Bible story, Hymn, Psalm, the Book of Common Prayer, etc.)
- Discuss the narrative: What was that about?
- What was difficult to understand, needs clarification?
- What did you like about it? or not?
- What does it teach us about God?
- How can we share this message?
